All courses are conducted by experienced paramedics and paediatric nurses from Child Revive First Aid and the course content is specifically designed for expectant parents and parents of infants and small children.
Government Venue COVID Vaccination Requirements
For face-to-face Essentials courses, proof of vaccination is now a requirement for attendance as legislated by the government. Attendees over 18 years old must be fully vaccinated to enter community venues, except those with medical exemptions. Proof of vaccination (or medical exemption, if applicable) will need to be provided prior to the course - this information will be sighted by our administration manager and then deleted. The safety and health of our attendees and trainers is our number one priority and we look forward to welcoming you back to our in-person courses.
Please Note: The range of parent first aid courses listed are different to workplace accredited first aid courses as they do not incorporate adult emergency content and do not require any pre-course learning or assessment at the course. Currently, there is no workplace accredited course that is specific for only infant and child-related emergencies.
1) Limiting our class sizes.
We are holding classes in line with the allowed restrictions for each venue. We love having your children in our class. However, unfortunately, we are currently not able to accommodate children who are mobile. Babes in arms, and breastfeeding, are always welcome. We ask that children who do attend, are contained within their pram or within the strict physical distancing areas required.
2) Respecting 1.5m physical distancing.
We hold classes in line with the allowed restrictions for each venue and members of separate households will be seated at least 1.5m apart from each other.
3) Encouraging good hand hygiene and continuing high level infection control.
We have hand sanitiser and disinfectant wipes available for all participants to use. Equipment is not shared and is thoroughly cleaned before and after every class.
All of our classes are taught by expert paediatric nurses or paramedics, who are highly experienced in infection control and hand hygiene. They will always follow our strict infection control policies.
4) Modifying how we teach.
We are ensuring that we meet COVID-Safe regulations and guidelines.
We are making sure that no equipment is shared between members of separate households, and have taken steps to teach in ways that remove interaction with other participants.
5) Complying with regulations.
We are only holding classes in line with all relevant Federal & State requirements in place at the time.
We are guided by:
Please be advised that during COVID-19 you will be required to sign-in upon arrival at a course using our venue hosts sign-in procedure, which are in line with Government requirements.
6) Ensuring our educator has good health.

7) Record keeping.
Please be advised that, during COVID-19, your contact details may be confidentially provided to our venue hosts, in line with Government requirements.
Of course, if you would prefer to learn online we have an option available for you to learn all of the content from our classes in the comfort and safety of your own home.
We ask all participants to:
1) Follow all Government & Health guidelines and DO NOT ATTEND A CLASS if they or any babies attending:
2) Respect 1.5m physical distancing before, during and after the class.
3) Maintain good hand hygiene.
We are pleased to be flexible with bookings and to reschedule bookings impacted by COVID-19 without any penalties applied.
Our trainer, Steph, was very knowledgeable and engaging. Practising CPR and back blows on the dummies was great to check our technique. The content was covered well, with examples and videos, and the opportunity to buy a firstaid kit was handy.
After many years of First Aid training through teaching, this was the most comprehensive, empowering, easy to follow and engaging course I have done. Felicity, our course administrator, was very knowledgeable, practical and made the course enjoyable and interesting. Her first hand experience as a Pediatric Nurse and a mother was reassuring that we were being lead by a caring expert. My husband and I, and our group, all walked away with the knowledge and skills we need as parents to provide vital first aid to our children, in the case of minor and emergency situations. An excellent course that I would highly recommend as a must do for any new parent and carer. Thanks Child Revive!
